Project Engineer - Instrumentation
Handforth, Cheshire
£25,000 - £30,000 DOE Plus 20 Days Holiday (Rising with Service) + Bank Holidays, Company Car or Car Allowance
As a specialist engineering consultancy service, our client provides support and guidance to some of the worlds most prestigious companies, including British Energy, Cadburys, BHP Billiton, Shell, and Sellafield. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has now arisen for a Project Engineer to join their team.
This is the ideal opportunity for an engineer with instrumentation experience, looking to develop their career with a company offering fantastic scope for progression.
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for working on a variety of interesting instrumentation based projects within our clients special project group.
These projects frequently involve on-site measurements of strains, loads, displacements and accelerations, using computer based data acquisition systems and data loggers, followed by the engineering assessment of the data. As such, you will be in the office around 50% of the time and in the field the rest of the time.
You will be tasked with:
- Assisting with the preparation of quotations for project work
- Assisting with the preparation of method statements for projects
- Designing and configuring bespoke instrumentation systems
- On-site installation and commissioning of measurement systems
- Collection and analysis of data
- Report writing
To be considered for the role of Project Engineer, you must have:
- A degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a science related subject
- Instrumentation experience
- A full valid driving licence
Additionally, you must be an excellent communicator with good written and organisational abilities.
Although not essential, experience in a similar project engineering role would be a distinct advantage to your application. Experience of on-site installations would also be beneficial.
This is an extremely interesting and demanding position requiring global involvement in projects from initial technical enquiry through to project completion.
Projects frequently involve a considerable amount of travelling and short periods of time spent away from home, occasionally including international travel.
